What is so unreal to us living in the Portland area is how verifiable it is that Portland has not been burning for the last several years or now.

White Pine Beach, the floatwalk, and Sasamat Lake Loop Trail are now open but food is not permitted. This step is to discourage bears from approaching people and picnic tables. The rest of the park remains open but outdoor cooking is not permitted.
