Ooh, someone cited my research about indoles! Looked at their review... Hmm, their Figure 1 looks AI generated. Structure of Sunitinib is terribly wrong. What's Motinib and Oximeindolol, lol? and according to AI, ferroptosis is a compound, ferroZptosis is a mechanism of action...

Yes. Cut flowers are awful. I will die on this hill. Masses of water, fertiliser and pesticides used to grow them, on land that could probably be used for food. Wrapped in huge amounts of plastic, transported in chilled vehicles. Thrown away after a week. The whole thing is a horrendous waste.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

I fear not the chemist who has practiced 10,000 reactions once, but I fear the chemist who has practiced one reaction 10,000 times!

It's very interesting that certain styryl 3H-indoles can cause paraptosis in cells! my 3H-indoles would cause apoptosis or necrosis 😁

I'll post my joke on BlueSky as well.
If a reaction is not stereodivergent, then it is STEREOTYPICAL!

Merocyanine-based photoacids as recyclable catalysts in visible-light-driven transformations
Visible light-driven proton transfer is crucial in nature and catalysis. Here, we report that protic merocyanine-based photoswitches act as efficient and recyclable homogeneous Brønsted acid catalysts...

Please hold the pipette vertically. It improves accuracy when you dispense the bright blue aqueous solution.

was going to share this one on Chemsky too, hehe
First post on here for #chemsky you’ve always been told that alkyl groups are inductively electron donating. I’m afraid that’s not actually true! There’s a fair bit of evidence that they are electron withdrawing and we’ve just added to that!

Alkyl groups in organic molecules are NOT inductively electron-releasing
It is commonly stated that alkyl groups exert an inductive electron-releasing effect when compared to hydrogen. This information has been given in numerous organic chemistry textbooks over the last 75...

I feel sad that the Researcher app is closing... I enjoy reading latest scientific articles, and it's easy to open them on Researcher.
What other apps would y'all recommend for reading newest articles (especially organic chemistry)?
