Insurrection is not protected political speech. The people of Seattle have a right to know which of the police officers it pays participated in the insurrection, and the right to decide whether these officers can be trusted to protect them and to uphold the law.
Seattle police who attended Jan. 6 rally appeal to U.S. Supreme Court to keep names secret
The attorney for four officers is asking the high court to stay a decision finding the officers should be identified by name in court proceedings.
