The worst thing about living in "Katrina's America" is there is no atrocity that can't be shouted down by jingoisitic horseshit. America is the "HOTTEST COUNTRY" you know. New Orleans withered and languished while civic leaders celebrated "resilience" www.southerncultures.org/article/katr...

Bassey has been excellent in defense today.

Between he and Iwobi, it's great to see the left side of the park look so solid on both ends in a game where Robinson is missing.

Ok so the plan is to build a nuclear reactor on the moon, because if China and Russia do it first they won't let us go near it.

Also, it's going a rush job pushed through by a former Fox News host.

And the plans will be made by the private sector because we defunded NASA.

What could go wrong?
EXCLUSIVE: Sean Duffy will announce expedited plans to build a nuclear reactor on the moon, his first major action as interim NASA administrator.

Read news, op-eds, and analysis, not AI summaries. Create your own art (even if it's messy) or hire an artist to do it. Do your own homework. Talk to people, not chatbots. Keep your thinking and skills sharp and cherish our messy humanity. That's the new punk rock.

Ding dongs think it’s good that Texans are dying in floods because of who 56% of them voted for.

@texaninnyc.bsky.social is donating to counter the ding dongs.

Want to join in? Here’s the info.

Run the ball.
Great question. The Kerr County Fund is probably in the best position to directly help, but Red Cross is also always good.

Musiala had his back to goal, no angle to shoot, and was already being ushered out of bounds by a defender on his hip.

Needlessly reckless play by Donarumma.

I'm tired of the energy wasted on "I told you so"s and finger pointing. If you care so deeply, find a tangible way to help improve the situation. Arguing with folks who likely agree with you on the things that matter is wildly counterproductive.

@sickoscommittee.org In case you're not watching, PSG took the 1st half kickoff of the Champions League Final and just booted the ball to the far corner of Milan's half.

Basically equivalent to punting on 1st and 10 with your first offensive possession. In the Super Bowl.

This is important. Food banks can bulk buy, and stretch that money further than you can. They also know what they actually need. Money is better!
I saw advice to buy extra cans of food when you’re at the grocery store to donate to the food bank.

I want to politely nudge you to give the money directly to food banks (or to mutual aid groups if you know of any).

We can usually stretch a dollar farther than a dollar’s worth of canned goods

$22.60 for the 226 rushing yards UMass inflicted on Kirby Smart and the Georgia defense in Athens last fall.

$19.98 out of respect for recently fired HC Don Brown and his 1998 National Championship with UMass.

Plus fees.

Cultural artifacts are so interesting. I was watching Assassins (1995) for the 1st time, a meh Stallone action flick that bombed at release, isn't on streaming, and has a 16% on RT.

Then out of nowhere, this scene pops up. A movie with no modern relevance, now immortalized as a reaction gif.
