Politicians need to know how our current transportation system affects Portlanders. We're collaborating with @portlanddsa.bsky.social to host a town hall that gives transit users a chance to speak directly to elected officials and advocate for a better transportation system in our community.

I just finished training up @sunrisepdx.bsky.social folks on how to lobby their city officials…

and if you all think I’m mean and hard to deal with, wait until you have to answer to a generation who has been fucked over so badly that they really have nothing to lose.

"The people of Portland have the right to clean air and water, resources that Zenith continues to pollute and devalue."

It’s very cold and rainy/borderline slushy outside, but well over 50 people have turned out to Portland City Hall to protest the city issuing Zenith Energy a Land Use Compatibility Statement earlier this week.

This morning, the City of Portland officially processed a Land Use Compatibility Statement (LUCS) for Zenith Energy, a Texas-based fossil fuel company operating out of NW Portland. The LUCS paves the way for Zenith to obtain permits from Oregon DEQ and expand operations in Portland.

Buckle up! We're mobilizing at City Council on Wednesday morning to protest Mayor Wilson (and his senior administrators) ramming through new approvals for Zenith without a public process.

As it happens, council will be discussing the futures of these same officials if you want to testify.
🚨BREAKING: In a betrayal to Portland residents, the City grants a Land Use Compatibility Statement (LUCS) to Zenith Energy, giving the Texas-based fossil fuel company a green light to expand its operations in PDX.

Wednesday we protest.

The City of Portland is just hours away from granting known climate villain Zenith Energy a Land Use Compatibility Statement.

We love to see it ✊
We’ve received hundreds of emails telling us that Portlanders want climate champions. As watchdogs of policy and as representatives of the community, we deserve a full investigation into Zenith’s permitting process so we can make a decision informed by facts. This will increase transparency & trust.
I have just submitted into E-Council a draft resolution co-sponsored with @councilormorillo.bsky.social that directs the Mayor to investigate violations of Zenith's franchise agreement, initiates council oversight of staff, and pauses open permits pending these investigations.
