I am also not allowed to have food, as evidenced by the woman who looked at my chart information with a hand full of menus and walked past me to hand one to the old man on the other side of me and the old lady at the end.

They really do not want me to turn into a gremlin.

My brain just won't let this go.

Maybe the double claw dudes are just ambidextrous.

I'm in the hospital because I can't breathe.

I'm overwhelmed by all the hospital things, which is making that worse, so I was like, maybe I'll try one of those calming apps that my insurance offers.

I download Headspace and try one of the exercises.

It instructs me to breathe.

Attention: ALL OF ASIA

Asia is home to rich, yet largely underdocumented biodiversity. This Fri-Sun, we're having a CONTINENT-WIDE community effort to record the wildlife around us.

Join us in this historic effort—there's a high chance you'd be the first person ever to observe a new species.

Welcome to another exciting episode of am I hungry, am I nauseous, or am I having cardiac-related chest pain?
October 16, 2024 at 7:46 AM
I have been visited by two cardiologists who asked me a lot of questions. They can hear my pericardial effusion with their stethoscopes, which is wild.

One of the questions was if I have any pets at home, and what kind. I don't think they often hear that someone has approximately 75 tarantulas.

The nurse won't let me have any water until they get approval from a doctor who has not answered their messages for the past two hours, so I am unable to sleep, sitting on the edge of my bed, angrily farting In-N-Out Burger farts while listening to hospital staff slam the same door repeatedly.

I hate how the ER nurses put the pulse oximeter thing on your dominant hand index finger and an IV in the crick of your arm so you have to answer all the "omg are you okay??" texts with the wrong hand.

Anyway, today's grippy socks are light blue.

Our router is dying, so I ended up restarting a game of Stray and then getting past the part where I was previously stuck, only to pleasantly discover that, as a cat, you can walk in front of and trip the police.

Also I went clubbing and scratched a few records because I'm reckless.

I finally watched The Contestant on Hulu.

A friend loaned me a vhs compilation of Nasubi's captivity stint on Denpa Shonen over 20 years ago, and I was horrified then, but I had no idea how bad it got for that dude. Fucking hell.

I'm glad he's okay.

Most pharmacists stopped masking a while ago.

Most sick people refuse to mask.

Customers waiting for a prescription/vaccine don’t deserve this either.
Leaving aside the fact that people do not intuitively know whether or not they qualify for Paxlovid, this policy requires SYMPTOMATIC people to trek into the pharmacy and expose everyone there in order to *maybe* access a COVID test.

Pharmacy workers deserve better than this.

Look I never play this card but I studied German politics and the rise of fascism and this IS THAT. We have arrived at the end game. Not hyperbole or exaggeration this is THE EXACT LANGUAGE. Anyone who has studied this recognizes it like a meteorologist seeing a gathering hurricane

The foundational core of all fascist movements is a "Plot Against The Volk" conspiracy theory.

This fascist ur-conspiracy is always a plot by insidious insiders against the so-called true and decent people of the nation.

Fascism cannot be countered by logic, because fascism is based on asthetics.
I wrote about the hurricanes, attention grifters, the limits of the term misinformation, and how it is more apt to call it a full cultural and political assault on any person or institution that operates in reality. (gift link)
A Cultural Assault on Reality
What’s happening in America today is something darker than a misinformation crisis.

Because it's a Meta product, Instagram sucks and hasn't shown me any of Terutsuyoshi's updates since he retired, but it looks like he put on weight and won his first MMA bout on Sept 7.

He's selling sponsor spots on his shorts, if anyone wanted to feel close to Terutsuyoshi's junk.
