I used to look at things through the lens of “before I had kids and after” - or “before my mom died and after.” Now it’s “before my boss screamed directly into my grillpiece like a fucking madman and after.” This is how I shall proceed for the foreseeable future.

I had the perfect internal monologue going in the shower this morning - where all my best internal arguments are won - thinking of all the things I should say to my boss in response to his shouting and belittling. In person, I would just say some syllables loudly.
