Would you rather live in a city where walking is a pleasant part of daily life, or one where people drive to the gym to walk on a treadmill?

A city is only as vast as its network of connective multi-modal infrastructure (pedestrian, public transit, rail, cycling, etc.) and social infrastructure (local amenities, services, trusting informal circles, etc.).
