In Southern California. Reply more than I post. 1/2 serious posts. 1/2 jokes. On the left, but probably either more left or not as left as you want. Utopia is for everyone's needs to be met sustainably.

So I was sitting in this pot of boiling water, as one does. And it was gradually getting warmer and warmer, as tends to happen. Just another day, nothing much was going on.
And then something deep inside me snapped. An inner scream, a giant NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! coming from deep within.

New Romeo and Juliet 💕: He comes from a long line of liberals, her family is MAGA. It's quite tragic. They both die in the end 😢
The moral is we need to live with and love each other.
No, SCREW THAT. The moral is MAGA must be CRUSHED and we need a national divorce.

Many things led here
They were "the beginning of the end"
But this is the end of the end
And from here the beginning of the end seems such nostalgia, such beautiful days
Afterall the beginning of the end is a better time than the end of the end

Same National Guard that was in MacArthur L.A. I guess. Like with TX and floods, are we going to ask how this happens when fires kill people again?
I do realize only to well fast moving climate disasters can't always be planned for or prevented. But this is real bad.

California National Guard firefighting crews understaffed due to LA deployment
At least 60% of the California National Guard’s firefighting teams were pulled under federal command, with no way to recall them, as fire season continues.

In some ways, there’s a potential opportunity here. Assuming a big enough Trump backlash, progressives could get people elected that would normally never get a shot

Radical rest
and rest is radical
No resting isn't going to change the world (ha absurd)
But rest is a reason why we need to change the world

Burnout feels like boredom. I am so bored (burned out) with this stupid regime.
But maybe this society just leaves everyone so burned out that it explains a lot of pervasive boredom.

The House just passed its budget resolution, so reconciliation is now officially underway. This is their bill to destroy Medicaid and SNAP while cutting taxes disproportionately for the rich.

THIS IS VERY REAL and can be enacted even if all Ds vote no.

Thread on what's to come and WHERE TO FIGHT.

Some say all this chaos is to benefit Putin. Sure that merely SOUNDS plausible.
But I know who it is REALLY to benefit, those selling sleazy gold commercials on right wing media. Stocks chaos, bonds chaos. Darn I should have listened to Grifty McGrift ads between barking lunatics

We no longer live under Constitutional law. We now live under Murphy's law. That's the new legal basis of the country.

Trump take water.
Could be bad. Does this mean California and the west runs out of water sooner than otherwise, given whatever weather and climate conditions we face in the coming years, and the failed attempts to resolve water issues?

Trump funding freeze includes payments to keep the Colorado River flowing
President Biden promised billions in funds to farmers and others to not take water from the Colorado River. President Trump is halting some of those funds, leaving questions about the river's future.
