Making some plans for a River’s Edge trip sometimes end of summer (maybe labor day weekend, but still open). Looking to see anyone else either planning trips there already, or who might want to go in a group. Anyone here fall into those groups?

I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.

It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.

Seriously, this ruling is a straight up masterpiece, a must read.
It's worth reading the entire 7-page 4th Circuit ruling rejecting Trump's appeal in the Abrego Garcia case. I've never read anything quite like it. It's an elegy to the end of the country as they've and we've known it. It rues "all that might have been."

Musk has previously stated that DOGE staffers would cost taxpayers nothing. This $1.3 million figure, coupled with previous WIRED reporting about DOGE salaries, tells a different story. Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Why is the basics of Double Entry Bookkeeping not something taught in high school?!?

I'm learning it at 40+ and its giving form to stuff I've had to figure out myself (and poorly I might add) for years!

A teacher in Idaho has been told to remove posters reading "Everyone is welcome here" - specifically because it features different skin tones. As I wrote last week, this is a global political movement that has explicitly set the goal of eradicating the very concept of equality.
West Ada teacher stands firm after she’s told to remove ‘Everyone is welcome here’ signs
Sarah Inama said she was told by administrators that her signs “don’t allow people to express differing opinions.”
