My favorite thing about pro wrestling media is how they dont realize when they've broke an actual story. The news here is that these books are cooked beyond belief. The city forecast 2750 at $30 per and it ended up with 5550 sold at $70??? How did none of the expenses change?? This ain't right.

This explains why ticket sales for AEW ppvs are strong from the jump. People still have the money for the big events, like Full Gear or Iron Maiden. But weekly tv or a regular season hockey game? Wait & see in this economy.
In thinking about my purchasing habits outside of AEW, I think you're on to something. Other than Iron Maiden, I've generally been in "wait and see"/secondary market mode over the last year or two, which is highly atypical for me (I'm usually a 'get in that f'n queue!!' guy).

Blood & Guts tickets moving well this week for a good crowd on Wednesday. I think the trend of a late rush on tickets is economy-related, not how AEW promotes. Same thing happened for a hockey game here in DC.

This why I'm hopeful about a vibe shift. The anti-AEW stuff helps WWE execs, not wrestlers. A live tv show airing on TNT in Saturday primetime is the major leagues. Not to mention HBO Max & international audiences. Light bulb went off when they walked out.

The fundamental problem is these old fart Dems still think voters want bipartisanship. That was a cute idea in 2020, but every Biden administration attempt to do just that failed spectacularly. We've told them all year we don't want that & they won't listen, so now they got to go.
