I'm watching Dennis Leary on the Tonight Show right now, and IDK, he looks like some plastic surgery and make-up went horribly wrong.

I'm watching the Charlie Kirk thing with #Trump talking and I'm sorta wondering, is he having a stroke or something?

It’s funny that the NY Post reports this as if it’s a dig on Jimmy Kimmel — when it’s actually a rallying cry for his fans.

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd.
It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.

Hey Sen. Joni Ernst, people shouldn't be dying of treatable conditions because their Senators cut social safety nets that people have paid into all their lives, so they no longer have access to the care that would treat or manage their conditions.

The fact that this has to be spelled out is insane.

Yes, Joni, we are all going to die.

But it shouldn't be our SENATORS who are killing us.

I am fascinated by the reporting on "Original Sin." To quote from the end of this piece: "In a rational world, Congress would hold bipartisan hearings about how this happened and whether and to what extent Biden’s aides hid the truth from the public."

An Autopsy Report on Biden’s In-Office Decline
“Five people were running the country,” a political insider told the authors of the new book Original Sin. “And Joe Biden was at best a senior member of the board.”

If the economy shrank in the 1st qtr despite everyone front-loading their purchases and the tariffs not hitting yet, I really worry about how big the contractions will be in Q2 and Q3
Breaking news: The U.S. economy shrank in the first three months of 2025, contracting by an annualized rate of 0.3 percent, a stark reversal after nearly three years of solid growth, as tariff-related uncertainty upended spending patterns and raised fears of an impending recession.

Fully endorse.
100x this. You get plenty of conservatives in econ depts where they havent rejected all the academic mainstream.
The conservative movement has turned against reality on every scientific issue of our time, from gun violence to climate change to epidemiology.

If campuses are ideologically homogenous, it's not because academia has ostracized conservatives. It's because conservatives have ostracized academia.

NEW: When a firefighter dies, a small team of federal health workers helps pinpoint what went wrong and identify how to avoid similar accidents in the future.

Trump laid off nearly all of them.

I was wondering about the cause/effect relationship, how JD Vance's abilities to make everything worse killed the pope. This is a much more charitable and probably correct.
I think it’s rather fitting that Pope Francis spent some of his final time on this earth with J.D. Vance. He died offering the wisdom of God’s light where it was desperately needed the most.
