I thought “There will come a day when nobody alive will ever remember that I existed” and thought “OK”

Then I thought “There will come a day when no one alive will remember Mr. Rogers existed” and immediately started hyperventilating

I think airports are filled with people who go "the crazy man signing the books can be someone else's problem".
Not to cast aspersions on your ninjabilities, but do you ever think staff is sometimes, “ooop! Gaiman’s here again! Pretend you don’t see him!”

My mom used to buy herself half a dozen boxes of chocolate, give them to my dad to wrap, and then act surprised on Christmas Day (“Oooo, another box of chocolates!”). I laughed about it but now I realize she knew what was up and I’m doing the same — psychological trickery + real serotonin hit.

The Christmas Cookie Inflation Index is silly, but also incredibly useful as a measure of inflation that is not subject to manipulation — it’s the same ingredients, in the same quantities, bought at the same store, year after year.

It’s up 12% over last year.
Christmas Cookie Inflation Index, 2023 Update
The Christmas Cookie Inflation Index has risen 12.0% in the last year. This is compared to the official inflation rate of 3.2%.

I feel bad blocking those cute cat/dog accounts following thousands of people but then I remember they're just data scrapers and BLOCK doesn't feel so hard any more. But as always, a reminder that the wonderful @catsofyore.bsky.social is not one of those and well worth the follow!

THIS. IS. BIG. Finally, mainstream media accurately reporting Covid is airborne, that cleaning the air with HEPA filtration is necessary moving forward & can be done inexpensively, that masking works & showing K/N95 as minimum standard, not cloth or surgical masks. Bravo CBS News! 👏👏👏😷 Watch video:
Indoor air systems crucial to curbing spread of viruses, aerosol researchers say
With COVID an ongoing concern and flu season getting started, aerosol researchers say there needs to be a focus on improving the quality of the air we all breathe while inside.

we fixed acid rain! we fixed the ozone layer! we beat polio! we’ve rescued scores of species from the brink of extinction! the despair many of us feel about climate change isn’t that it’s too big to fix. it’s that we know it is fixable but we’re being thwarted by greedy ghouls at every turn.
The other day I was like “you know something we heard a lot about as kids was acid rain, why don’t we hear about it anymore”

TURNS OUT we fixed it???
We! fixed! acid! rain! And we can fix climate change 🧪 www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-...
