If I was - for some reason - looking to endorse a Western voice on Palestine, I would simply not choose someone who was defending Bashir al-Assad even as he was barrel-bombing Palestinian refugees in Yarmouk.

This tweet is about a lot of people, but primarily Clare Daly and Mick Wallace.

"Calls for cultural boycotts in solidarity with Palestine against nations other than Israel are rare. Germany’s unprecedented willingness to defend Israel at the highest level goes some way to explaining why so many feel a strike is necessary."

Hard to take Germany's anti-AfD protests seriously when the vast majority of those white protestors hate or are indifferent to Palestinians.

Thanks to Gaza, European philosophy has been exposed as ethically bankrupt
From Heidegger's Nazism to Habermas's Zionism, the suffering of the 'Other' is of little consequence

For more context: this was published yesterday; today some of the people mentioned in the report were fired from their respective right-wing parties, in a desperate attempt to manage the level of nazism at the "tolerable" level. In other words, 1) it is real, 2) journalism is still consequential.

The Namibian response to the Germans, who only half-acknowledged their genocide of the Herero and Nama in 2015 and are still dragging their feet on reparations, is a thing of beauty. It is wonderful to see a multipolar world with strong African leadership emerging.

There are a lot of issues with information decentralization in our current age, but Global South actors like Namibia being able to talk back to the Global North in a way that would've had mainstream outlets portray them as crazy 20 years ago is a nice benefit

Namibia calls out Germany's move to defend Israel at the International Court of Justice when it hasn't fully atoned for the genocide committed there.

Many of the tactics used on the Nama and Herero laid the groundwork for methods used in the Holocaust.

The fact that Ursula Von Der Leyen's justification for Isr@el's actions in G@za has been used as "evidence" in the ICJ is just another sign of her moral bankruptcy. I hope they follow her to the grave and she has no peace!
