So interesting!
I find this remarkable:

The Dresden Codex, one of the few surviving Mayan manuscripts, contains tables that give highly accurate timings of solar eclipses over more than 700 years, from 350 CE to the 12 century. 🧪🔭

Great video… healthy ecosystems are in the best interests for all.
Last night, I watched one of the best nature videos I have ever seen, from Cornell Lab of Ornithology. I have been in love with hornbills since I lived in Indonesia and Malaysia and saw them every time I went out in the jungle.

You really owe it to yourself to watch this.

This captures my relationship with coffee! Coffee made by me, just how I like it, in my favorite mug- it’s a nice way to start the day.
Coffee is motivating not just because of its caffeine but because it is nice, nicer than the news, nicer than the weather, nicer than being yelled at, nicer than the polarised horrors of the internet.

Interesting…
Mental imagery is associated with a bewildering variety of human traits and capacities: a propensity to hold grudges; a vulnerability to trauma; emotional awareness; ways of making art; memory of one’s life. What happens if you can’t see it?
Some People Can’t See Mental Images. The Consequences Are Profound
Research has linked the ability to visualize to a bewildering variety of human traits—how we experience trauma, hold grudges, and, above all, remember our lives.

I notice when my friends or family come to my house and notice with interest and curiosity in my books and glossies on my coffee table and bookshelves. It actually is gratifying!

gratifying: a friend came over and was really interested in my stack of coffee table books, flipped extensively through two of them

Our stunning National Parks and Monuments are our National Treasures. They need to be cared for.
I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t see how precious they are. I am grateful for those who are trying so hard to preserve and save them for all of us to enjoy with wonder. I am so sad.
Our national parks are increasingly stressed because of the government shutdown. With a large portion of National Park Service staff furloughed, there are fewer personnel available to enforce rules or care for the land. Across parks, reports are emerging of trash accumulating,
