So, hanging out at the end of the Waikamoi Preserve boardwalk, wondering where all the birds were, when Death On The Wing flew over us and explained much. :) This is a Pueo, (Asio flammeus sandwichensis) our endemic short-eared owl and only Maui raptor. Hard to shoot against backlit fog. :) 📷🌿🦉

My first time seeing pilot whales! I was also hoping to see an oceanic white tip, as they follow these whales to get food scraps. However, I couldn’t have been happier. Pilot whales and many other Pelagic ocean creatures can be found off the Island of Hawaii because of the volcanic activity.

I really want to try to make my space here fresh & the opposite of toxic X. just want to say, I was at the Seattle protest. I wasn’t paid. We all went because we care deeply about our country, our friends & allies in other countries, our oceans & nature (My Happy Spaces) and Democracy.
