The Sens are on the opposite end of the spectrum. I feel bad for the new owner. He made the decision to try to build around the current core rather than burning it all down and rebuilding and it is not working out. I wouldn't want to be face with the difficult decisions they are faced with right now

I took in a couple of Jets games on TV while I was in Wpg a couple of weeks ago and they are so much fun to watch. They're in their contention window and I expect them to go deep in the playoffs. I would love nothing better to see them win the Cup. If they do I have have to visit to go to the parade

I guess I should put up a couple of hockey-related posts about the team my heart will always be with, the Winnipeg Jets, and my adopted team the Ottawa Senators

I have to admit I am shocked that Ding took the first game of the chess world championship. His form has been terrible for a long while and Gukesh is solid. To top it all, Ding won using the French defense which is one of my least favourite openings. Long way to go in the match but Ding looks sharp.

To all my new followers, I have been working on a CapFriendly replacement called TheStanleyCap.com. All the important salary cap information is there and I believe is the most accurate that is publicly available. If you haven't already, I'd appreciate you checking it out and spread the word.

Although I am not really looking for more social media in my life, I decided to poke my head in here again to support this site and get caught up with things. How's everyone doing?

Huh. How did the Sens not get a 2nd round pick for Tarasenko? I figured that would be the most likely return at the deadline (if it materialized) all the way back when they signed him.

This is really quite remarkable, especially considering that doctors haven’t found a cure yet for the mysterious “bluesky sickness” that keeps killing users

one of tech’s biggest problems is that it used to invent stuff that made people’s lives better and easier and in recent years has pivoted to “fake money for scams” and “plagiarism machine that puts you out of a job”
This is what blows me away every time. There's no one who NEEDS predictive text machines. It's not curing cancer or feeding people or producing clean energy. It's just sucking up resources, convincing CEOs to fire humans who do better jobs than it can do, and allowing founders to siphon VC money
"will require a breakthrough energy source" my dude, it requires nothing because it doesn't need to exist. you WANT a breakthrough energy source to keep playing, and you can get in line behind the people who actually need it #comemierda

He is going to vigorously defend himself and plead not guilty, and the victim is going to be re-victimized in the trial process. But even if (a big if) he did not actually rape her but was there at the time when she was raped he is still a sack of shit for not stopping it.

Is it my imagination or were there also rumors years back about the Sens trying to land Tanev? My memory isnt what it used to be so maybe it is just my overactive imagination acting up again.

This is correct, I had issues with videos not showing up and found all of the settings were set to off. Just turned everything on for the full new and improved Blue Sky experience.
Hey folks, if you have trouble seeing videos or gifs on Bluesky, that's because the settings for it are automatically turned off. Go into your settings and go to "external media"

Ohio has basically defacto banned trans healthcare for adults using a similar strategy to why there was only a handful of abortion clinics in the entire Midwest before the Dobbs decision (TRAP laws)

cis people please repost this so this info doesn't get stuck in the queer social bubble
Breaking: Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) bans, by executive order, gender-affirming surgery for minors, effective immediately. The move followed last week's veto of a broader bill. He also announced two proposed rules that will apply to all care, including adults. substack.com/profile/2269...
