I keep seeing people that know better saying "the only way to 1.5°C now is by overshoot".
The vast majority of 1.5°C scenarios have always been overshoot, as assessed in IPCC 1.5°C (2018) & IPCC AR6 (2022).
Reinventing overshoot now is not going to help reduce emissions, nor help adaptation.

Seeing calls "to keep 1.5°C within reach" at #COP30 and am unsure what to make of them. What would a failure to recognise reality mean? Does it mean we are also not recognising the need to adapt to a 1.5°C world?
