I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.

I am an AI hater. This is considered rude, but I do not care, because I am a hater.

Keep on ridiculing "AI" garbage, folks. Give companies which rely on these technologies the ire they deserve.

I'm beginning to believe that capitalism is past the point where its managers are capable of finding ways to accelerate profit with the production/privatization of things of value.

It has to accelerate profit to survive, but increasingly the only way capitalists knows how to do that is destruction.
Which is not to take away from the fact that industrialized eugenics is all death, all destruction, ultimately the opposite of creation of VALUE at the end of the day.

But again, it creates a lot of profit for those who can monetize its implementation.

Democracy Isn’t Dead—Stop Writing Its Obituary

(Editor's note: The Index will no longer be publishing photos or images of Donald Trump. The man needs no further publicity. He takes up enough space in the world as it is.)

Remember this? A problem we didn't have in automated speech recognition tools until OpenAI decided they were going to do away with alignment (not the kind that so-called "AI safety" people do)? And they're giving us "artificial general intelligence" any day now right?

Researchers say an AI-powered transcription tool used in hospitals invents things no one ever said
Whisper is a popular transcription tool powered by artificial intelligence, but it has a major flaw. It makes things up that were never said.
