I really feel the people that try so hard and people please the most never get the thank you’s

But it becomes a cycle as expectations grow higher and higher and you shrink yourself for others

Accepting apologies is hard when you know the actions will just be repeated again

I’m not sure what is getting scraped off the bottom of the barrel in the phrase “scraping the bottom of the barrel” but my instincts tell me it might actually be the best part.

Made lunch plans with a family friend I love so much and offered like three restaurants I really like, said it’s ultimately up to her where we eat.

She chose a brunch place. It doesn’t sound that good but I will suck it up for the sake of yapping and friendship.

Telling a disabled person to stop being so “negative”, is like telling a victim to stop “dwelling on their trauma”…

It is a disgusting thing to say, and shows you don’t actually have a clue about reality.

Debates on which types of disabled people "deserve" to be on Medicaid plays into lateral ableism, imo.

Every citizen who is forced to enter name/email into a form to access public wifi has a duty to make up something breathtakingly vulgar.

I live in a house where everyone is ill in some way including me and I need to escape even if it means I have to live in denial for a little while🥴

When most people say “it’s okay not to be okay”, what they really mean is…

“It’s okay not to be okay as long as it does not affect or inconvenience me in any way”

Sometimes I do ok with being disabled and live in a place of acceptance.

Other times it's like this, and I'm a mess and I cry so hard and wonder how I'm going to survive everything to come in so much pain, being so helpless.

I'm fighting so hard to hold it all together. ❤️

How are y'all dealing with the cognitive dissonance of much of your daily life continuing as normal right now even as really really really bad shit is happening in government (that will certainly have ripple effects that will reach us all)? Because I'm honestly feeling a little insane right now.

I finally got someone able-bodied to crawl around under my heavy-as-hell sleep number bed today and figure out what’s wrong with it.. one cord was unplugged, now I can adjust the firmness and the base to go up and down & it has responsive air when I toss and turn it’s amazinggg

Mobility aids aren't "giving up".

They're an enabler. They help keep people going and as independent as possible for as long as possible.

Actually, more people should be using them, and they'd stay healthier and more mobile for longer if they did.
