The constant challenge
"Where everybody lies about everything of importance, the truthteller, whether he knows it or not, has begun to act; he, too, has engaged himself in political business, for, in the unlikely event that he survives, he has made a start toward changing the world.”

An Arizona man is facing felony charges for threatening to shoot up a gay bar to avenge Charlie Kirk. He was convinced the shooter had "transgender ideology." Fortunately, he was stopped, but this is on the media for running with the erroneous WSJ reporting. www.azfamily.com/2025/09/19/p...

I have long believed that sexual assaults by bishops, cardinals, priests, sisters/nuns, brothers/monks, lay staff, professors & teachers in religious schools, ministers, those in charismatic communities, youth leaders, diocesan staff, etc is not just physical abuse, but also spiritual violence. (1)

At age 17, my abuser-teacher told me “I checked the consent laws and we’re ok.” No, it was not. This man should NOT be the next AG.

Dolan has used his folksy. “Aw Shucks” mannerisms to hurt so many over the years. If you really follow his deeds, rather than what he says, you can see that his good-old-boy affectation is just that. Thanks to @NCR & Nate Tinner-Williams for covering this news.

It breaks my heart that they will quickly remove these priests over stealing money, but move incredibly slowly to remove the priests who stole the souls & bodies of human beings.thanks to @NCR & @BrianFraga for covering this important story.

From Tim Lennon, president emeritus of Survivors Network Abused by Priests (SNAP)
The election of Trump was a setback, leading some to despair. I suggest . . .

Be like a pebble in a pond

A pebble tossed into a pond causes ripples to flow out from the center, an excellent analogy to political organizing.

Took these screenshots of the video from the Short North area of Columbus, Ohio today. The flags and attire are scarlet & gray, because this is not far from Ohio State campus on game day. Video keeps going down. Wanted to make sure that I got a record of this horrific moment.

This is an important question. And I am also trying to track homeschool groups that use parish space. Are the parishes background checking the adults and high schoolers like they should be???
Does your homeschool co-op or org...

• Have a child protection policy?
• Require background checks for every adult who supervises children?
• Plan child abuse awareness days?
• Invite child protection professionals to speak?

If not, change that!

Not new (pub. in 2017, early in Trump's first presidency) but unfortunately still timely! This is Bonhoeffer's essay about what had happened to his nation after 10 years of Nazism. It's a pointed/poignant analysis of how/why all the guardrails failed. Includes his famous passage on "stupidity."

It is horrific to see this in a city where I studied, lived, & taught for around a decade, and where I had family for many years. I just can’t grasp this happening in a place that I love so much. It is a knife to my heart.
My niece is a student at OSU and confirms this happened today. White supremacists have been emboldened, once again, by the election of Donald Trump. It's imperative that this type of hate, intimidation, and violence be loudly condemned every time.
Today in Columbus, Ohio.

Her “constitutional right” use a slur about kids at her children’s school. So much work has been done to protect others, especially the vulnerable. We must be the resistance & which stands against the cruelty & ignorance.
She thinks she’s the victim because her high schooler told her he’s not allowed to say “r*tard” at school.

She’s absolutely indignant. She thinks it’s her right to throw slurs at special needs kids.
classy stuff at the latest school board meeting in my hometown of Forest Lake, Minnesota (the same town Pete Hegseth is from)

1) The term “Judeo-Christian” first appeared in the 19th century, in the context of trying to convert Jews to Christianity.

2) It’s Islamaphobic

3) most Jewish advances (Talmud, law, etc) developed under not-Christian rule, that’s usually sucked for us

4) the Crusaders mass-murdered Jews. 1/x

As far as I know, suspended Diocese of St. Cloud priest Fr. Aaron Kuhn remains in a "residential treatment program" after allegations of the priest's “sexual misconduct involving an adult.”

The diocese won't give more information.

His parish held two prayer services for him after he was suspended.
