After 30 years I have finally found out the delicious pastry I loved to buy from the local Toulouse boulangerie was called "Pain Suisse aux Raisins".
Similar to the traditional spiral pain aux raisins, but in a long rectangle and more custard.

BY THE WAY

If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.

Putting aside how the UK government usually responds to these petitions by simply saying 'no', seeing this hit a million signatures in like a day kinda shows how much people REALLY do not want this.

So yeah, keep signing it. Let's see how high this can go!

Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards
We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

What's so stupid about the emergency alert is that I am too busy shutting it up to read what it says. And then it's gone. What was the message?

Writers, keep writing. Do not buy into the hype train telling you your job will be replaced in a few years. Those using AI are literally atrophying their brains ability to be creative. The future will need your words, your creativity, to function well.

Earlier this year I was very interested in a boat for sale, but it had a name strongly linked to fascism. It definitely would have needed renaming. Fortunately a better, cheaper, nearer, boat was also for sale, which I bought instead.
Continuing with amusing boat names: Iris Elder sent us this. The boat was bought by her late partner. They enjoyed many happy trips on her and also changed her name to ‘Magic’ 🫶

So I launched a business this w/end - Muddywatermaps.uk & it helps you navigate England’s inland waterways with the easiest maps.

Narrowboats should only have possessions that serve two functions. Our maps are wall art, navigation tools — and help with the washing up!
