i think the AI video game thing is interesting because there's people who don't see the potential and people who don't see the huge problems, and i really would like more people creatively harnessing AI to do things that don't suck, but it just isn't incentivized on social media i guess

You might say this will, among other problems, look weirdly lopsided, but I think the obvious implication is he's totally planning to do the West Wing next.

the reality is that the actor is much better at acting than Holden is written for all but the last two books
I dont get the holden actor hate and i hear it a lot lol. like hes a righteous holier-than-though prick but like he plays that part well
I really like the Expanse but "perfectly cast" is the last thing I would say about it--Holden has the charisma of a block of wood for starters. Avasarala and Draper are great. But I don't go to it for the acting or character depth the way I did, say, battlestar galactica.

i really like this concept of the warrant and distributed warrant enforcement, which i believe is something science, as practiced, collectively created, imperfectly, but that this explaining its success. perhaps the pace of discovery of the last century has been a result of that social system

i think an illustration of the robustness of capitalism against change is that the incentives run to either improving things somewhat, arguably letting the system continue, or you end up positioning yourself against good things all the time shedding all possible alliances making you ineffective
Realizing I don't need to get a girlfriend, because then I would still just have a girlfriend under capitalism

conversely, this means that the dataset for feet is vastly better-labeled than the dataset for hands, meaning that despite the relatively sparsity of images of feet relative to hands, models are (by default) much better at rendering them than, e.g., the average Marvel artist.
