Absolutely nightmarish situation in the town of Coffee City, Texas which has just 250 people.

And 50 cops.
This Texas town has about 250 people. It has 50 sworn police officers.
The Coffee City limit sign on the side of State Highway 155 reads “POP 249.” In a town of barely 250 residents, there are 50 full-time and reserve officers.

Can’t sleep. Thinking bout how if Dr. Brinkley who claimed to cure impotence with goat testicle gland transplants was alive in 2023 he’d be an honored guest on Joe Rogan’s show.

For the latest issue of @thenation.com I profiled two state lawmakers who are part of a record-breaking trans cohort in state legislatures currently fighting a record-shattering tide of anti-trans bills. https://www.thenation.com/article/society/mauree-turner-alissandra-murray/
The Brave, Often Lonely Fight of Trans Lawmakers in State Legislatures
Trans and nonbinary people are running for office in record numbers, beginning their careers just as their Republican colleagues are launching an assault on trans rights.
