Thank you for the kind words and highlighting this milestone. I’m thrilled and honoured to have reached tenure.
Big thanks to my lab, colleagues, mentors, friends and family who’ve supported me along the way.
Excited to keep doing what I love - now with slightly more security.

What if science is like solving puzzles?
We spoke with @sonnenlab.bsky.social, a group leader who recently received tenure. She tells us about her journey, her research on signaling dynamics, and the challenges of leading a lab.

It was fun reflecting on how my career path took me from a focus on cancer research to developmental biology, the urge to understand how development and tissue homeostasis work and how my time at the @biozentrum.unibas.ch contributed to this. Thank you, Katrin Bühler-Popowski, for the interview!
Since she was a child, Ina Sonnen dreamed of becoming a cancer researcher. Although her academic career took a slightly different path, the topic of cancer has never quite left the Biozentrum alumna. @sonnenlab.bsky.social

Delighted that our work on positional memory is now published. We asked how axolotl cells 'know' which part of the limb to regenerate after injury.

A joy to work with super team Sarah Plattner, Yuka Sugiura, Francisco Falcon and Elly Tanaka.
