Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

Core 1A speech.

With cameras rolling, they’re sniping priests for sport.
Here’s video of the incident

@joshtpm.bsky.social - loved your new article in response to @andreapitzer.bsky.social's excellent essay. Sticking to core beliefs requires core beliefs. Those with core beliefs which haven't wavered since Nov like AOC, Mamdani, Murphy, Pritzker, etc. have only risen. Core beliefs are good politics

Taken just a few minutes ago outside the ICE facility in Portland that Trump claims is under siege. My message to Donald Trump is this: we don’t need you here. Stay the hell out of our city.

Portland is in full sleepy pumpkin latte mode. I cannot stress just how extremely cozy and friendly this city is. Just the other day I saw some backyard chickens. Clearly it needs to invaded.

If the GOP is a failed state and the GOP is their warlord, then Musk is clearly trying to enact a hostile takeover. He thought he could buy it outright but Trump pushed him out of power. Only getting hotter as he tries to sway GOP electeds to his side by capturing the MAGA base.

Possible to start to tell a unified story: "Trump is personally too old, crazy, and confused to run things, so at any given time the question is which co-president is in charge. At first it was Musk, & we got the crazy chaotic DOGE era. Then Navarro: a trade war that crashed markets. Now Miller..."

Trump underwater in literally every single issue. 38% approval overall. 27% approval on his spending bill. 40% approval on deportations.

Musk also at 30% approval. 38% approval for RFK Jr. 35% approval for JD Vance.

Nobody fucking wants any of this.

@joshtpm.bsky.social people keep thinking about Elon v Trump thru emotional or financial lenses. Better to consider it through the “GOP is a failed state and Trump is its warlord.” Since last year, Musk has been performing a cold coup of that failed state and it just went hot. New warlord in town

Unironically they should buy up the domains for about 60 defunct local newspapers in swing states. Hire two reporters to write almost exclusively about highschool sports and new restaurants opening with every 10th article about how the local GOP is screwing over people.

@timmiller.bsky.social do you have a Spotify playlist of the songs you close your podcasts out that you can share publicly? Routinely catchy songs I’ve never heard before.

Great little article @zanesimon.bsky.social on the erosion of fandom. As a rabid mma fan since 2005, the conservative cultural takeover soured it for me and I haven't watched a single UFC event since November 2024. If the right fighter caught fire I might come back, but I don't miss it so much

It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

It doesn’t even matter if the cloture vote fails tomorrow. Schumer needs to be challenged for minority leader. You can’t intentionally try to trick your base on a matter of such importance.
March 14, 2025 at 2:36 AM
Vote NO on Cloture until there are concessions to restrain the White House’s illegal actions. Examples include reinstating fired workers, dismantling/firing of DOGE team, and the renewal of canceled contracts that were terminated without evidence of a breach by awardees.
