The new De La Soul album is dope. Difficult to listen to at times, the grief in Pos’ voice is heavy at times. And if that grief can be heard, I can only imagine what it’s like from that side of things. The De La flavor is there though. The Posdnuos wisdom is there. Royally produced too.

I saw a video where the person read Juelz Santana lyrics with a preface: do these sound the lyrics of someone who reads?
I mean I’ve heard better examples of his lyrics but reading them without music made them seem terrible.

One thing in my poetry practice I love is that I started journaling this year. Diary-ing. Whatevah. There is a certain freedom to the format and also a good way to chart evolution / growth in looking back at previous entries. I’ve laughed. I’ve cried. It’s good.

Absolutely disgusting. And yet human beings are not given even an ounce of the forgiveness or consideration that a billion dollar corporation is given. Greed and corruption is the rule of law.

Lit two candles and sitting with the silence. When I close my eyes, there are two orbs of dancing light, nearly planetary. The darkness feels merciful and I almost begin to float.
