I was surprised to hear from David Harrison Horton that he nominated my 'halocline' for a Pushcart Award. David included the poem in issue 14 of his excellent 'zine SAGINAW during the summer. You can probably still get a copy here: Those who know me will know that I'm not big on prizes, but as I didn't enter this myself and there appears to be no entry fee, I'm quietly pleased that David rates the poem highly enough to nominate it. Plus, there's approximately zero chance of my winning.

I imagined a ghost. It didn’t exist & knew it didn’t. It knew it was impossible. The ghost wasn’t violent but very discreet & didn’t intrude on privacy. But it loved to haunt. It wanted to see how we handled things, specifically the fact that soon we’d also be impossible ghosts, haunting impossibly.

I work with kids. And they are unmistakably kids, completely independent of where they are in their physical development. It is not necessary to imply that someone like Epstein was somehow less of a monster because of puberty.

Holy shit, just learned about the typewriter art of Montserrat Alberich Escardívol, a Catalan typist. Using an extra wide typewriter and 180 color ribbons, she built up elaborate images from simple characters like 'm' and '.' and ';'. Here is her typewritten painting of the Cathedral of Barcelona.
