Get off social media and do literally anything else.

Still socialist. Still buddhist. #YNWA he/him

I post mostly about #LFC, music, and U.S. politics, and that last one only because our politicians are shit.

I think it goes to show they never wanted to do them in the first place. Like uncomfortable shoes, they took them off as soon as they were given the slightest permission.
I'll never get over how all of these companies folded like wet cardboard when a dim NYC real estate conman operating at a fourth grade reading level demanded they all be more sexist and racist (or at best hide their efforts to be kind and inclusive under a tarp)

Well put.

We’ll keep fighting.
The authoritarian threat is serious, and people should take it seriously.

AND the threat is under-resourced and full of incompetents who got their job because they put breaking the law for Trump above personal integrity or fear of consequences.

Push the regime beyond its limits and it'll break.

Love this sentiment. Up the Reds. #YNWA
Absolutely love this. These lads can’t let us down this season because they’re doing us proud just by turning up every day.

This is your regular reminder that the federal government is actively monitoring social media and most social media sites will comply with subpoenas to some degree.

So, you know. Be careful what you post

079, 080 & 081. - The English Beat - I Just Can't Stop It

I've got the 1982 #vinyl on I.R.S. records and then the new expanded clear vinyl re-release with remixes, dubs, and live tracks from 1982. Very much enjoyed having to listen to this record twice. 😎

How clever are they?

Using the music from the Violent Femmes “Add It Up” for a fundraising video. 😄 (Probably a cover, there’s no lyrics, but a nice nod anyway.)
We need your help! But let me explain why:

People in the USA for years: “what is this GDPR crap, who cares, have my data, whatever.”

People in the USA in 2025: “oh.”

Brian is one of the most level-headed, brilliant people I know, and I've known him over 20 years.

He's a scientist. He doesn't engage in hyperbole.

His assessment is very alarming.
Universities across the country have their business models being completely destroyed by this administration on multiple fronts.

1) Loss of foreign students.

2) Killing of NIH/NSF funding for research grants.

3) Revocation of tax exempt status.

They are trying to eliminate universities.

This is the kind of prose where I'd look around my undergrad creative writing class & see just about everyone rolling their eyes or raising an eyebrow as the author read it aloud in the workshop room.

Which then has me asking - does her editor have it in for her? Who lets this reach the public?

I kinda don't like sharing this, but it's necessary, because people are still saying things like, "If they go after visas? Tourist visas and student visas and work visas? Then they will destroy the US economy! They don't know that! Mistake!"

Dear reader, they do know that. Their plan requires it.
