Parent child relationships need not be hierarchical. The mere reality that children need adults due to their vulnerability doesn’t translate to adults having domination over children, and in fact could be seen as an argument against it.
It's not a good hierarchy but it's a hierarchy we don't really have another option for so we have to pretend its good.
“Not all hierarchies are bad, for example, the parent-child hierarchy-“ oh my fucking god how many abusive parents does it take for your go-to examples of “Good Hierarchies” to not be this one.

The Ayatollah can get f- for all I care. My concern is more on how Israel wages war and the fact that it is committing genocide in Gaza. That same state cannot be trusted, to put it mildly, with 'just' overthrowing a deeply unpopular and murderous regime.
The Khamenei regime for decades pursued aggressive operations that left deep grudges among European and Arab states that now won't lift a finger to stop Israel while failing to build effective alliances that would lead Russia, China or anyone else to lift a finger to help Iran

There has been mounting concern over Dmitriev’s health. The prison medics had, for the past two years, advised that an oncological examination was required. After his lawyer made repeated appeals, the prison did take a blood test for cancer markers. The document with the results ‘disappeared’.

It has been clear since Dmitriev’s first arrest in December 2013 on preposterous charges that he was facing reprisals for his work in exposing the crimes of the Soviet Terror. It is beginning to feel as though there are no limits to the revenge that those behind his persecution plan to exact.
