This has happened before. This will happen again. But even dumber.

OH HELL YES
I really, really, really wish that old white men I've never met would stop interrupting my day to relate to me apropos of literally nothing. A paltry complaint, but it's very tiring. I do not have it in me to humor you or pretend that having to deal with you is anything other than a nuisance.

answer is great but also it's telling that the guy who's been saying this since day 1 has to answer about whether he's an antisemite for 5 min every interview while the same people grin vacantly at the jewish space lasers lady and call her a brave warrior
WELKER: What is your message to Jewish New Yorkers who feel you won't be tough enough in your response to antisemitism?

MAMDANI: That I am looking forward to being the next mayor and fulfilling the commitment I've made to Jewish New Yorkers to not only protect them but to celebrate and cherish them

Is there a mass death to profit ratio for these people or are they just bleeding the stone dry until capitalism finally eats itself

It was always pageantry. It's kind of Trump's only real skill.
Israel has violated the US-brokered Gaza ceasefire at least 497 times in 44 days, killing at least 342 Palestinians, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office.

Sci-fi portrays eugenicists as brilliant masterminds who seed themselves into prominent scientific institutions to manipulate the direction of progress, when real eugenicists are inept anti-science dorks with no tact. Like, look at RFK. Dumb oafish loser who owes everything to his family's legacy.

Just realized that Jordan Peterson's entire schtick is presenting fables as science, and that's pretty much a universal counterargument to nearly everything he says

In the course of easing federal pressure from New York, Mamdani shook up a lot of GOP propaganda with that press op, and Trump's people are megaphoning it like they got one over on him. I'm always incredibly wary of any politician, but this just looks like incredibly brilliant political maneuvering.

Honestly, I think all that happened is that Trump is easily charmed, and he's gotten so used to dealing with losers that have absolutely no charisma that he was just happy to feel like his old socialite self. I mean he always just looks so bored and tired now. Like being back on old social circuit.

once again joining the many people who have observed how much of a world-historical problem it is that Trump is so fucking funny
Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?

MAMDANI: I've spoken about--

TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

Americans are murdered daily for profit but yeah okay this seems like a good thing for the government to devote time and resources

I do not believe in the providing the benefit of the doubt to anyone with power, but just as a thought, what if Greene got in over her head and learned something so horrible that she just lost her taste for being a fascist stooge?

I don't believe that. Just a thought I had.

People learn through practice and challenge; not by receiving answers.

But a deeper problem is that an essential aspect of teaching is helping someone organize their thinking in new ways. LLMs — systems which cannot think or appreciate thinking — are incapable of doing this in a meaningful way.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

DHS claimed an incident on Oct. 3 showed agents were in danger of being "rammed."

In fact, body cams "suggest[] that the agent drove erratically and brake-checked other motorists in an attempt to force accidents that agents could then use as justifications for deploying force."

You can more or less disregard every claim DHS makes, especially this year
Ellis repeatedly accuses multiple CBP and ICE officials of lying (under oath) and says their "widespread misrepresentations call into question everything" they "say they are doing in their characterization of what is happening." She broadly discredits their testimony as objectively false.
U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis just handed down the written opinion version of her preliminary injunction order, regarding use of force by federal agents in Chicago.

It's the one already put on hold by the 7th Circuit.

It's 233 pages.

They make games and movies like they used to. So many of them. Same with books.

But the mechanisms you learned about them were totally gutted and changed to only amplify shit that's already popular.

It's still there! You're just mostly on your own to find it.

A lot has been made of fascist infighting before ignorant that it's fuel for the furnace. These people have no real loyalty to one another. It's part of the function of fascism. But I do believe what we're seeing now are the first real cracks. However, I don't think it's the beginning of the end.

People getting mad here about anyone saying it's good that MTG and Trump are fighting. I teach democratization every semester. The first slide says 'elite fracture.' That's always where it starts. It's good when people with bad politics are fighting one another.
I do not regret to inform you that we are going to win
BASH: We have seen these attacks from the president at other people. It's not new. And I haven't heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: I think that's fair criticism. And I would like to say, humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.
