One of my party facts is that according to polls, Americans believe foreign aid is about 25% of the federal budget and on average that it *should* be about 10%.

The actual number is less than 1%.

Foreign aid has long been a boogey man of the right, so it's not surprising they're vilifying it now.

I just watched the news and then my cat ran through my bedroom with a turd stuck to his arse and to be honest, both of those things pretty much looked the same, so there's that.

“What’s your reading goal?”

This year I didn’t set up a reading goal. I didn’t love the social pressure and comparisons. The feeling of having to rush to get onto your next read.

I’m just seeing where the year takes me! So far it has been amazing! 💙📚

I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it a thousand times more: We are not a Christian nation. We are a nation where you are free to be a Christian. — Your religion guides you, not all of us. It’s as simple as that.

Me, eating something with cheddar cheese in it to see if I can eat cheddar cheese again knowing full well I can't eat cheddar chese and haven't been able to for decades.

Because I wanted cheddar cheese.

The regret is setting in now.

They never monitored, let alone controlled, my reading. Now I’m an ELA teacher 🤷🏼‍♀️
Did your parents control what you read as a child/teen? Mine did not, and my life was not ruined. I grew up to be an academic librarian.

When folks say they want to dismantle the Dept of Ed because they want to “bring everything back to the local level” they are ignorant of how schools work. Curriculum has always been set at the local level.

The Dept of Ed protects SpEd students and is a watchdog for abuse.
