Maybe that wasn’t lost on her, but a great deal of fact is. Routinely.
Same suggestion a my last post, just a different failed legacy news outlet.

My only reaction is once again to suggest people support independent, pro-democracy media. If you are inclined, you can start with Democracy Docket. Subscribing is free. Premium membership is $10mo. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0
This is nuts!

Why is WAPO writing up anyone’s speculation about who the suspect might be?

I get that Laura’s statements and actions are at times newsworthy given her influence on Trump, but no one’s speculation — outside of a government official’s — should be written up this way.

Mast’s cartoons about Boss Tweed led to his capture and imprisonment. Tweed had lamented that his voters and supporters couldn’t read, so editorials about his corruption didn’t trouble him, but they understood the pictures.
Seriously, what other president is even remotely in his league?

There was corruption in the Grant and Harding administrations, but the presidents were largely uninvolved. Nixon committed crimes in secret but didn't really line his own pockets.

Trump is like a Thomas Nast cartoon come to life.

That’s worked for Trump his whole life.
Deflection, distraction and deceit, all to cover up what they are really doing. Enough already, let's finish this sooner rather than later.

You misunderstand the purpose of the demolition. He’s simply exerting power. It’s a developer’s version of marking territory. Like a dog does.
Absolutely no one spends $350 million on a remodel to a house they plan on leaving in three years. No one!!!

Those “ideas” have supposedly been “on the table” for a decade or more.
CNN: Marjorie Taylor Greene says Republicans have no healthcare solutions. What do you say to her?

REP. PETE SESSIONS: She needs a couple more years in office and she would learn that we do have ideas on the table

I wish they’d leave questions about vaccines and immunizations to “healthcare professionals.”
REPORTER: Should ERs check immigration status before treating a dying patient?

LEAVITT: That's probably not a question for me to answer. That's a question for healthcare professionals and legal experts to answer.

(That's not a no!)

That’s what happens when you cater to the most extreme elements of your support. They drag the center of gravity further and further in their direction. They’re never satisfied with anything but “purity” as they define it.
This.

I talked about this yesterday morning with Heather.

People with power grabbing a LOT more power to make their “reign” permanent, and overplaying their hand.

The Federalists in the late 1790s.
Silencing the opposition press.
They never regained national power.
Think in terms of unifying the opposition rather than breaking Trump's support.

Bouie and French mostly agreeing.

A lot of good stuff here.

When the Catholic Church’s many moral failings in Ireland were revealed over several decades, it lost all its moral standing. The Irish then turned their backs on many positions that the church had used to enforce its will, including same-sex marriage and abortion.
Kirk is not a modern day St. Paul, despite what Cardinal Dolan says. The only thing that such myth-making achieves is fomenting resentment, curtailing dialogue, and stifling action to otherwise prevent this tragedy from happening again, says John Grosso.
Cardinal Dolan calls the late Charlie Kirk 'a modern day St. Paul.' I'm not making this up.
Cardinal Dolan joins the Catholic right's ever growing quest to lionize the late Charlie Kirk as a Christian martyr.

During the campaign in 2016, Trump claimed that if it came to violence, his followers were better armed than those of his opponent. He anticipated - and welcomed - the situation we find ourselves in now. He also recognized which side has the greater proclivity for violence: his followers.

Debate itself is not the problem. If the “debaters” don’t want the intellectual engagement that honest debate demands, then they are the problem.
"Resolved: Debate is stupid"

You mean that we desire “mouths to feed” than jobs created.
It’s actually not, because new jobs numbers are weighed against population growth. And the population growth far exceeded 22,000 during that time period. So we added more people than jobs. bsky.app/profile/atru...
VARNEY: Would you admit to being just a little disappointed by this weakened job market?

LORI CHAVEZ-DeREMER: Well, 22,000 jobs -- underperformed just a bit, but it's still in the positive.

If Trump cared about the national economy at least half as much as his own, he might be receptive to such a suggestion.
The job market has flatlined, and it’s clear the Trump economy is a loser for American workers. In addition to Kennedy, Trump ought to fire Bessent and Lutnick too before they drag the economy into a recession. None of these cranks have any idea what they're doing.

“I wanna try to get as much as I can.” He never spoke truer words.
Reporter: You called Kamala Harris a communist, yet the Biden-Harris administration never proposed nationalizing a private company like you are with Intel. Is this the new way of industrial policy?

Trump: Yes. Sure it is. I wanna try to get as much as I can

“Deepest, darkest Africa”?!
Trump: “We stopped 3 wars. Go to Africa. They like to say, Oh, you know, I love black people. I did great with the vote of the black people. But they say 'He's a racist, he's a racist.' Really?…The Congo, that's deep into deepest, darkest Africa."

you know, how normal people talk
