I hope one thing leftists all take away from Mamdani’s campaign though is that it doesn’t matter how chill and wholesome you are, the dinguses are going to smear and trash you in increasingly unhinged ways anyway, so you might as well shoot for the moon and campaign on what makes your heart sing

“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.”

Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability & quality of life.

Common sense.

Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.
Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change.
Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.

‘Nation-building’ projects should by more than 'stuff' like pipelines and infrastructure. They should include bolstering programs like medicare that reflect Canadian values like fairness and equity, by @picardonhealth.bsky.social www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/arti... via @theglobeandmail.com
Opinion: ‘Nation-building’ projects should also reflect Canadian values
We can’t just focus on pipelines when health care and other soft-power initiatives are already our strengths

I do hope at some point we start discussing a future for Canada that is about more than pulling things out of the ground and selling them.
The premiers and I want to make Canada a global energy superpower and build the strongest economy in the G7.

We’re working together to break down trade barriers across the country and get big, nation-building projects off the ground faster.

The car traffic got BETTER.

Venture capital firms are now reaching out to scientists who have faced funding cuts due to Trump/Musk/Doge and offering them funding.

A very shrewd move on their part but of course this means their discoveries from this funding will be owned privately instead of by the American people.

What I’d like to see the NDP talk more about and focus on:

1. Industrial policy, especially now
2. Building an economy where enterprises are increasingly owned and controlled by workers (related to 1)
3. Building things (which workers like to do, related to 1 and 2)
