Very excited to celebrate 50 years of Political Economy at Sydney this Thursday! For many of us being students of PE has been life changing. We are indebted to the people who fought for an alternative to neoclassical economics and allowed us to study and teach the incredible program we have today

This Kennedy is not delusional, self promotional or arrogant.
She too is a child of Ethel & Robert F. Kennedy. She is a lawyer, author & human rights advocate and president of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights center. Her parents are surely proud of her

This actually happened: they dressed up the truck with a guy tied down on the roof, while the driver and passengers wore moose heads.
They drove down Interstate I-35 and caused 16 accidents.
Yes, they went to jail, yes, they were so drunk, and yes, men cannot be left alone.

This is how screwed up Florida is.

It’s illegal to board your dog in Florida if it’s not current on its vaccinations. It’s a law.

But you’re free to send your disease infested kid to elementary school to get other kids sick.

In July/45, these thirteen-year-old girls were camping, swimming in a river near Ruidoso, New Mexico.
The girl pictured at the front is Barbara Kent.
Unbeknownst to them, nearby the Manhattan Project had just detonated a nuclear bomb as a test.
All but Kent died of cancer before the age of 30.

Whoops.
Catastrophic subtitling on the 1941 movie "Love on the Dole".

(It should read "She's a strange lass, is our Sal"...)

In an extraordinary move to counter Republican redistricting in Texas, roughly 30 Democrats in the state House are heading to Chicago today to deny a necessary quorum for the GOP to move forward with those efforts. They plan to stay for the week, in a plan brokered with Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.

Re Spotify: “If the price of ‘discoverability’ is letting oligarchs fill the globe with computerised weaponry, we’re going to pass on the supposed benefit.”

Not only does Spotify suck the life out of artists, its profits go to literally sucking the life out of others too

I am removing my music from Spotify because I don’t want my songs – some written with survivors of conflict – to enrich people who fund weapons
