It is annoying to me how people leap on a sentence pulled out of (in this case) an hour-plus conversation and immediately slot the speaker into a pre-existing category of Enemy. Here is the entire talk.

There is so much to do to keep the United States from a complete authoritarian slide. I get it. But one of those things might be staring you in the face. If your school district is facing an election this November, find out if there is a pro-public education candidate, and then work for them.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

All I keep thinking about is how Pete Hegseth raised questions of the competency of a Black four-star general and Air Force fighter pilot who was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Hegseth asked did he get the job “because of his skin color? Or his skill? We’ll never know, but always doubt.”
