“Have Yourself A Merriam Little Christmas”

Merriam, a career-oriented lexicographer from the city, returns to her small town for the holidays and meets Webster, a ruggedly handsome librarian, who shows her the true DEFINITION of Christmas.

If anyone is looking for a bookstore to support this Small Business Saturday, may I recommend my beloved local indie Read Between the Lynes?

They're going to be losing out on sales today since we're getting many inches of snow, so I know they'd appreciate a lil boost!

There are some single-use kitchen gadgets that I only use occasionally but when I do I'm extremely grateful for their existence.

Cookie scoops are high up on that list.

Already seen two different headlines today with misspellings (Effect vs. Affect, Week vs. Weak).

We really are cooked, aren't we?

Just gotta note that this has ABSOLUTELY gone mainstream. I was standing in the pharmacy waiting for my flu shot and overheard a bunch of little old ladies calling out this BS and the "25% less" lie.
Gotta love how Jon Karl and ABC News had this graphic ready to go *the very moment* that Hassett rolled out his Walmart anecdote.

Obligatory aurora pics, first from me (closer to the city), then one from my dad (more rural, better camera). Was shocked I caught a couple moments that were actually visible!

Especially given that I completely forgot this even happened because it was such a forgettable movie...
Felix Leiter got half eaten by a shark so I don't think anyone has to worry about lore continuity in Bond
Spoiler: it’s because he died. The writers of a franchise whose main character has been played by seven actors across sixty years think they have to come up with a plot explanation for the character coming back after dying in the previous movie. radaronline.com/p/james-bond...

Also a big fan of using free fax services. I know it's not true, but I still like to imagine that every time I send a fax, they have to hear that god-awful screeching in the office.
Don't forget you can also email them—go to their website and click the contact option. Speaking as someone sitting in an airport and not making phone calls.

There are many songs about this city, but Tom Waits wrote one of the best, simply titled "Chicago." Out today, Mavis Staples' new album kicks off with her fantastic version of the song. I'm so glad to hear this quintessential Chicago singer putting her own stamp on it.
