The CDC has been completely untrustworthy & unreliable since at least when it prioritized politics & the economy over the people’s health by failing to properly inform the public that COVID is airborne & that even mild infections can lead to immune system harm & long term organ damage.
ICYMI: Yesterday, the CDC updated its vaccine safety page to say that vaccines might cause autism (they don’t) and that the science isn’t settled (it is).

For substantiation, the page links out to several studies by anti-vax allies of HHS Robert Kennedy Jr.

And yet the global response was all about doing less and less because somewhere else was already doing less. It was a race to where we are now.
BREAKING: The UK’s response to Covid was “too little, too late”, a damning official report on the handling of the pandemic has concluded, saying the introduction of a lockdown even a week earlier than happened could have saved more than 20,000 lives.

This sums up perfectly the pandemic response. The messaging was being controlled, not Covid.
Eat out to Help Out was killing people, but they “kept it out of the news”.

They are all run by physicians: reactive, anti-science, anti-engineering. The wrong profession is in charge of most public health. It should be engineers. We keep water safe. Put us in charge of air and surfaces. Until then, expect science to be ignored.

TLDR "Health officials are taking orders from politicians..."
2023: "...the rot in public health is structural: It cannot be cured by simply rotating the figureheads who preside over it. Building effective national health infrastructure will require confronting pervasive distortions...that have left US public health agencies captive to partisan interests."

🤷
Want to Fix Public Health? Stop Thinking Like a Doctor.
Public health requires seeing the world from a collective perspective, but US agencies are still dominated by doctors trained to work on an individual level.

Was just thinking how we don't use 'hybrid immunity' to protect IT network infrastructure.

Probably because it makes sense to prevent as many infections as possible even if we cannot stop them all.

COVID affects every system in the body.

Which means it increases the chance of deaths by diseases of every part of your body.

See for yourself in this 🧵.

My god. What have they done. I feel sick thinking about our children's future as they get infected over and over and over.
1/ Inspired by @1goodtern.bsky.social, I've been checking Canadian data. @cihica.bsky.social publicly available is useless. Stats Can is better, but only goes to 2023, because we suck at data in Canada. Nonetheless 👀

UK vax eligibility is based on fundamentally flawed cost-benefit analysis & total failure to understand the cumulative damage Covid reinfection is doing to our population's health, & how this drives economic damage & benefit costs. It makes no clinical or economic sense. Come and find out more 👇

Wearing a respirator is easy. You don’t have to look medical there are many folks making beautiful fabric covers, beautiful jewellery to go on them. You can get ffp2/3 in black and mauve quite easily. Cambridge masks are good for out and about day to day, washable. I wear an ffp2/3 Aura on public 🧵

Then we ignored an #OngoingPandemic now in its 6th injurious year, which ushered in #Fascism, & which will continue to defund the truth on both #ClimateChange & the #Pandemic -

It's such bullshit that you're disadvantaged during the hiring process if you wear a mask to an interview. People shouldn't have to sacrifice their health and risk disability just so that employers can pretend that everything is normal. This is such a massive public health failure.

Here goes UHN in Toronto (👉including the cancer hospital👈), repeating the same mistakes as always, because doing the right thing is less important for hospital admin than covering up having constantly done the wrong thing since COVID hit.

MEDICAL MASKS ARE NOT AEROSOL PPE, YOU NEED AN N95!

I say this as someone for whom this is my profession: elimination of a disease is not the same as eradication. When a country has eliminated measles, it means that cases still occur, but do not result in SUSTAINED ongoing outbreaks, because vaccination levels are high.

Then, put engineers and industrial hygienists in charge of Public Health agencies in Canada.
