Prediction, nothing meaningful changes because of the inquiry.

Governments would do it all again.

The messaging is still being controlled to this day, and not Covid.

IT doesn't play up the benefits of immunity from infection because prevention is too hard or because they were told to do so.
November 20, 2025 at 4:20 PM
IT doesn't say turn off your anti-virus if you don't see any symptoms of a virus because that's not how prevention works.

Health officials taking orders from politicians is why the mode of transmission for SARS-CoV-2 was said to not be airborne in 2020 and still remains 'complicated' according to their 'experts' to this day.

They are all run by physicians: reactive, anti-science, anti-engineering. The wrong profession is in charge of most public health. It should be engineers. We keep water safe. Put us in charge of air and surfaces. Until then, expect science to be ignored.

"Health officials are taking orders from politicians..."

Nooo, really?
November 20, 2025 at 3:53 PM
Probably why.

"...public health figureheads are instead compelled to look for ways to shore up existing unequal systems and to cast their political bosses in the most flattering light. If they refuse to do so, they can expect to be summarily dismissed and replaced by a more compliant physician..."

They seem to just blindly follow or be in alignment without pushback.

What I find weird is other countries public health bodies never really call out the US partisan interests when it came to protecting the economy vs protecting the individual.

Not airborne, OK.
Don't mention respirators, OK.
Stop counting cases, OK.
Keep quiet about viral persistence, OK.

Misinformation just because it comes from 'your team' is still misinformation.
November 20, 2025 at 3:08 PM
Maybe spending six years allowing obvious misinformation to persist while not defending the use of 'layers of protection' has consequences.
November 20, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Experts' getting mad about vaccine misinformation while ignoring the elephant in the room that just six years ago they allowed a pandemic to spiral out of control due to their misinformation 'it wasn't airborne' and that now prevention is somehow too cumbersome is really something to behold.

No regrets so far, in fact I'm glad Microsoft gave me the push I needed to try daily driving Linux Mint as much as possible.

There's a definite learning curve but it comes with the satisfaction of learning new skills. Skills that are useful in a technology career, so win win overall.
