I would be very intrigued to know about the location of some of the more George Crossy accounts on X while we are at it.

I’m not sure this notification is anything other than noise. Sometimes it’s useful to be told when rain will start or stop, but knowing there’s a seven minute gap allows me to do… what? Nip across the road without an umbrella to post a letter? Seems un-useful.

A former guest who knows him, once told me that Trump sees politics as a reality show. Whatever else happens, by Friday every week, he has to "win the episode", ensure he's the principal character, make the last shot.

Once you tune into that, everything begins to make a twisted sort of sense.

I am currently hatching a plan where it is the main part of a chicken wings marinade, along with garlic and chilli oil.
There is no earthly reason why this abomination should have ever been conceived, let alone developed and marketed. And even less rational justification for it being so unfathomably delicious or utterly addictive.

It is crack in a bottle and must be regulated, before the whole country is lost to it.

SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

Strange but true: the expanding Universe doesn't conserve energy
The conservation of energy is one of the most fundamental laws governing our reality. But in the expanding Universe, that's just not true.

After forty years of claiming to “hold back the years”, it is now extremely clear that the years are actually not being held back at all. Fkn furious.

Me: two hundred and thirty bajillion
Them: there’s no number called a bajillion
Me: how many numbers are there?
Them: an infinite number
Me: is the number of combinations of letters in a 9-letter word less than that?
Them: yes
Me: there has to be a number called a bajillion

Inevitably fascinating thread on a particular strand of modern tailoring and its place in American political life.

To which I can add a little contrast if you want it…
This process is done using a computer-aided design tool. After your pattern has been made, the panels are cut and the garment is entirely machine sewn. While the company superficially offers a full handmade bespoke service, the price is so prohibitive, they're effectively made-to-measure service.

Genuinely such an interesting long thread on why these suits look crap and yet how a particular type of crap suit has become a cultural signifier for right-wing men.
I can answer this. I interviewed Peterson's tailor a few years ago, although the interview was never published because I fell behind on work. Here is the story of this suit. 🧵
What is happening with this outfit?

These people have civilian jobs. It's one thing to mobilize them for an emergency or a legitimate war, another thing to send them to American cities to stand around and mill about. You're messing with people's careers to further a hostile and idiotic agenda.
