Writer of historical and crime fiction. Have been known to be a Sunday Times number one bestselling author. I was a lecturer previously and sad to leave formal education. Try to make up for that by making interesting comments on social media.

Give a man a fish and someone with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about people getting free handouts. Teach a man to fish? Yeah, that person with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about that too.

School pupils are to be taught how to tackle conspiracy theories, spot 'fake news' & root out misinformation. The Daily Mail, ajudged by Wikipedia to be an unreliable new source, is furious. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out why.

Obligatory Blade Runner patch I made on the Alesis Andromeda synthesizer.

This synth can replicate the architecture of the Yamaha CS-80 very well since it can add sine waves post-filter, used here, just like the CS-80. It also features the famous ribbon cable.

Good thing there’s not a power hungry sector of the economy that has single handedly revived demand growth in electric markets and revived interest in fossil fuel plants or we’d really be in trouble

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 84th day out of the last 96.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Writing crime fiction is a finicky business. It's taken me 40,000 words to work out who the killers are and how the crime was carried out and now I need to rework the first chunk.

Coming up to a third of the next novel written having begun at the start of the month. At the same time as dealing with packing up to move and a kidney infection. I am on a roll! 😀

Ah, the glamour of being an author! Today I am knocking out a few pages of the latest Berlin novel in a mall coffee shop while my Hilux gets its latest 5k service. Can recommend the salted caramel and peanut shake at Cafe Lux though. Pure brain food for writers.

35 years? Drokk!
Jovus, 35 years!

Hearty congratulations to its current (and longest-serving) editor Matt Smith, launch editor Steve MacManus, plus John Wagner and the late Alan Grant who helped shape its start.

Honoured to be there at the start, and to have stuck around for the first decade of the Megazine.

I just watched the video of the Portland Cop threatening to arrest an ICE agent if they drive their truck through a crowd. Now I see this where the General of the Oregon National Guard says if they get called up they will protect the protesters. People are fed up.

Oregon general’s testimony that National Guard troops ‘will be protecting any protesters’ gains traction online
Brigadier General Alan R. Gronewold made the comments to state lawmakers Sept. 30, and they drew notice on social media this week.

Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. It’s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.
