Today LA City Council voted to strengthen the LA rent stabilization law, so that increases will range from 1-4% instead of the current rule, 3-8%. This will affect hundreds of thousands of households. Congrats & thank you to everyone who fought so hard to win this!

LA reforms rent control for first time in 40 years, lowering rent hikes for most tenants
Under the reforms approved by a majority of City Council members, rent hikes would be capped at 4%, even if inflation in the overall economy runs higher.

Some say they are an "anti-influencer" or push for a concept of "no followers." To me, the issue is not if you have lots of followers, it is if you "post for followers" and if you want "fame as an influencer" or want to make a difference with activism. What I do is activism.

I’ve been crystal clear from the start: I won’t support any funding bill without the ACA tax credit.

I voted NO on the CR tonight because it fails to meet the moment—and unfortunately, the American people will feel the effects of this failure the most.

This fight isn’t over.
Breaking: The House just voted to reopen the government.

Today I voted against the Republican funding bill because it will force millions of families to choose between higher health insurance costs or no coverage at all. I will not stand for that. I call on Republicans to undo the damage they're causing and pass a bipartisan ACA tax credit extension bill.

It’s amazing to me, much like Trump’s elementary way, none of these fuckers have a rudimentary concept how to write a coherent email, spelling, grammar, a logical thought process, etc.

The big science accounts are talking about immune dysregulation due to COVID-19 now.

I. Told. You. So.

Infection does confer antibodies and T cells against C19… but it also takes a wrecking ball to the immune system as a whole.

Stop burning down your house. (Metaphorically.)

Modern authoritarians seldom cancel elections, because they prefer the veneer of democratic choice that voting provides, and because they can tilt the playing field toward themselves. “No one likes an election better than Vladimir Putin,” the Democratic election lawyer Marc Elias told me.
