This is what the government did with 120K+ Japanese Americans in 1942.

I know. I was there in those camps.

and anyone telling you otherwise can shut the fuck up until the cows come home cuz this works and is the core foundation for how we build a mass resistance
The most powerful words you can say right now to these fascist bastards is:

"No, make me."

They cannot actually be everywhere and enforce their fascist policies. They rely on fear to do the job of governing for them. By refusing to comply, you make their means of compliance ineffective.

Prisons are the laboratories of human rights abuses because so many Americans think criminals deserve anything that happens to them

In Kim Stanley Robinson's Ministry for the Future, fossil fuel companies only stop burning oil when their execs start getting assassinated. The 1% only quit taking corporate jets when they start getting shot down. The most common critique of Robinson is that he's too optimistic.

For our November political discussion, we picked up the introduction to THE PRICE IS WRONG by Brett Christophers, a book that may be more shocking to capitalists than socialists, and found a compelling argument for public power. 🧵(1/7)

Today, #KashPatel sent a letter to my counsel @markzaidesq.bsky.social threatening to sue & demanding I retract my MSNBC comments on his unfitness to serve as FBI Director. This follows his threats against media & political opponents, showing how he might act if confirmed. I stand by my statements.

You can get sent to jail for stealing toilet paper but if you hire a dozen children to work overnight shifts at your slaughter house your company pays a fine

Pro-tip: next time someone invites you to their ChatGPT webinar, ask them if they used ChatGPT to write the script for it.

IF THEY SAY YES: Ask them why you should go when you can ask ChatGPT for the same info yourself.

IF THEY SAY NO: Oh, so they don't trust ChatGPT to generate quality content?

"Disrupt" is code for "Destroy reliable established services so that money previously widely distributed now funnels into a single source." Just like "AI" is code for "Mine the work humans did in the past so we don't have to pay them for their work in the future." That's why VCs like both words.
“Disrupt” is a very Silicon Valley word. Every time I see it crop up in a business-case, my bullshit-detection hackles go up.

haven't used it in months but judging from some of the writing my students be tryna pass off as they own AI has really come a long way! I mean it's still vague and robotically bland, but the range of sentence patterns and vocabulary choices is actually impressive

Will always defend the prequels but it makes me mad when Palpatine murmurs to Padme "Enter the bureaucrats." At least bureaucracy in government protects voters sometimes. Anybody who ever dealt with health insurance knows corporate bureaucracy is just as Kafkaesque except all it protects is profit

I feel like videogames actually do provide a pretty accurate representation of real life right now because a lot of videogames are like “THE WORLD IS ENDING” and then you just collect herbs and pretend nothing is wrong

I did a ton of martial arts when I was a kid and teen and even earned my black belt, but had to stop as life got busy.

Restarting now from the beginning makes me feel like an RPG protag in a sequel who's been cursed back to level 1 and has to relearn all their skills.

I don't personally know an Asian as preposterous as Steven Cheung, but met some close enough that his schtick makes sense. Part running dog, part Stepford Wife, part hustler and scab, part Zombie King. Winners like Ari Fleischer and Herman Caine paved the way for this eager human doomscroll
