This great thread culminates in an even greater article. Great bit of queer history.
A very important thread. When I was probably no more than 10, I saw this picture of the woman known as Harlow in the Philly Inquirer. A little babygay, I was shocked that such a glamour queen could live in my hometown and even more shocked to see her described as "a former man."

Philadelphia and the world, may I have your attention?

@tomandlorenzo.bsky.social's massive, detailed, fascinating profile of the Philly icon that is Harlow published this morning in the @inquirer.com's brand-new weekend edition:

Harlow's still here
Fifty years ago, Harlow was the queen of Philadelphia nightlife, Jack Kelly’s girlfriend, and the city's most famous transgender woman. Today, she’s ready to tell her story.

if I were a despotic president you would find me on the studio lot directing my own stuff
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

The core issue lies in the idea that society must accommodate the best few and leave the rest to either measure up or die, rather than that it's every society's duty to accommodate every member by default

Antisemitism is a lot like Qanon child abuse conspiracies in that there’s this real and bad phenomenon and, parallel to that, what can only be described as a large scale mass psychosis about a mostly fictional version of the same phenomenon

I’m not Predator-head by any means (only see the OG and PREY) but PREDATOR: BADLANDS is, imo, a fantastic sci-fi action-adventure movie. So much imagination, great pacing, exciting and funny and brimming with cool creatures and tech.
A really cathartic thing in this moment of incandescent rage is Predator: Badlands. Fuckin’ rips. Under 2 hours, monster is hot and emo, Elle Fanning incredible in the murderer’s row of Weyland Yutani synthetics, has perfect sense of humor and pace for its barbarian tone. Knows how to be a movie.
