Speaking of monsters, we should do a modernized version of these ads for heatpumps. Terrifying as a kid.

Would you rather keep a monster in a basement, or send it to the graveyard where it belongs?

Heat pumps do the same thing that your stinky old furnace does, while making your home safer, quieter, more efficient, and more comfortable at the same time.

Ditch your monsters. Electrify!
Carbon monoxide. Know about it.

Heat pumps have efficiencies of 300-400%

(yes it’s possible to be more than 100% efficient, yes it’s magic)
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

Great to see this. Window heat pumps are an excellent pathway to decarbonization of lower income housing.

(If you haven't heard of window heat pumps, here's a good primer about them and other similar technologies for low cost electrification: www.heatpumped.org/p/mini-mini-...)

Heat pumps can be a no brainer. But it requires trusted partners guiding homeowners thru the journey.

Finding that partner can be challenging, which is why I started @vayu.pro.

Imagine all those horse traders in 1908 who thought automobiles were just a passing fad… fossil fuels had a good run but their use has way over stayed their welcome on our planet.

To go forward we are going to have to move on to electrification.
In the global electrification race China is marching ahead.

The US and Europe risk falling behind clinging on to yesterday's technologies.

Something something installing heat pumps is harder than landing a rocket on a ship in the middle of the ocean

…Kidding

Incredible accomplishment to nail this, on the second try no less. Huge kudos to the Blue Origin team, proud to have played a teeny tiny part in this big win!

The future is all-electric!

That’s the chair of @calenergy.bsky.social walking the walk and electrifying their home!

This is the way for a clean, safe, efficient, energy independent home. Heat pump HVAC, water heater, and induction stoves are the magic trifecta to kick dirty gas to the curb

Let's talk about crummy customer experiences.

Yesterday, I got an email that my Peloton bike was recalled. To order the replacement part, I should either call their support number or use their online support portal.

Of course, it was from a do-not-reply email address...🧵

Congrats to BPI on launching the Cold Climate Heat Pump Assessor certificate program today!

More people educated about heat pumps and selecting the right one for each house is great news indeed.

No amount of rolling coal is going to stop superior technology.

When people experience electrification, they don't go back.

It's simply better, even if you don't care about the environment at all.

It’s not just cars. Chinese heat pumps are exceptional.

The majority of our installations are Gree, Midea, and their various whitelabel rebrands.

Great build quality, high efficiencies, whisper quiet.

Chinese hardware OEMs are leading the pack on electrification across the spectrum.

Excited for the day someone says they got a heat pump because of @heatpumped.org!

Education is so important because the barriers to large scale heat pump adoption are human, not technical (relevant: www.heatpumped.org/p/we-have-a-...)

I love seeing Air Conditioner to Heat Pump Replacement (AC2HP) reach codes being adopted across California! Nobody needs to install a crippled 1-Way AC when #2WayAC exists

I love pomegranates.

But they're a pain to peel and always make a mess.

Kind of like heat pumps! The payoff requires a lot of pain. It's tempting to reach for the easy path (the bowl of halloween candy on my counter, or in the case of heat pumps, another gas furnace).

How do we make it easier?

Well written post by @bobbyllew.bsky.social! “Transitional technology” almost always seems to be a misleading con to keep customers locked into old business models and outdated polluting technology. Related -> bsky.app/profile/shre...

The best kind of email.

One of the most rewarding things about installing heat pumps is the instant feedback. We get to rip out clunky old furnaces, and see our customer’s delight!

it's bad enough on its raw characteristics, but what's really emotionally destabilising is the substantial chunk of the clean tech climate space who have decided its their new job to excuse, rationalise, downplay and otherwise facilitate what is unambiguously a HUGE fossil infrastructure build-out

This is why contractor & homeowner education are so so so important to get this energy transition right! I always hate to see reviews like this from folks that have installed a heat pump.

It’s almost always a combo of poorly communicated expectations & installer issues.

🔌💡A few thoughts… 🧵
Switched from heating oil furnace to heat pump and I hate it. Air coming out never feels hot in winter or cold in summer. A/C does not reduce humidity as well. Supplemental heat unit comes on a lot in winter unless I turn on propane vent free fireplace at 20°F. Huge variation in electric bills

Today is Heat Pump Water Heater day! Never been a better day to use the heat that’s already in the air around you to cleanly and efficiently heat your water! 💦 #HPWHday #GoGoHPWH #AWHI
