I recently picked one up and it alarmed when I was cooking with our gas range and had all of the windows shut. The levels went down again once I cracked some windows. The normal CO alarm would have never picked it up

Speaking of monsters, we should do a modernized version of these ads for heatpumps. Terrifying as a kid.

It makes you wonder if the primary motivation is minimizing spend on warranty work while complying with their legal obligations… if you make it really hard to get a warranty replacement, people will just keep using what they have out of laziness

This is why I always chuckle when people ask me if I'm worried that big companies will crush our business.

Sure, they have a lot of resources and scale.

But would you rather work with a big company like this, or a small business where you have the owner's direct number and can send them a text?

Apparently there were close to a million bikes recalled, so understandably their customer support channels are slammed right now. It's a self inflicted wound when it could have been an opportunity for delight.

Imagine if they automatically shipped the part to the address on my account with a coupon for 20% off Peloton swag for the inconvenience?

What a missed opportunity!

My bike is linked to my Peloton subscription, so I could have gotten a pop-up in the app or on the bike itself to order the replacement part.

Or even easier, the original email from Peloton could have had a button to order the replacement part directly inside.

Oh well, let's try the chat. "We're sorry the team is assisting other customers". No option to wait for an agent.

30 minutes on hold later, I finally get a hold of an agent at an overseas call center, who emails me a checkout link. 10 seconds later, I finally have my replacement ordered.

They do! There are some really great options that are available on the US market too, though.

Kia & Hyundai's latest EVs (Kia EV6 & Kia EV9, Hyundai IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and IONIQ 9, Genesis GV60) can all charge from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes (that would add about 200 miles!)

Ha, it’s a fair observation. But EV and home batteries operate differently than a phone battery which results in meaningfully longer lives. This article sums it up pretty nicely www.recurrentauto.com/research/why...
Why EV Batteries Last So Much Longer Than Cell Phone Batteries
If both cell phone batteries and EV batteries are lithium ion chemistries, why do we expect to see such noticeable battery degradation in our cell phones in only a year or two?

I didn't realize they had broken into the US market! I have seen their stuff in India (www.heatpumped.org/p/you-can-bu...) but haven't worked with it personally. Will have to dig into this some more!

Super interesting brand positioning.
