Installing heat pumps at vayu.pro

I’m thrilled to announce @vayu.pro, my new heat pump installation company! 🧵
Being small is an unfair advantage.

Every single call, text and email at @vayu.pro‬ goes straight to my cell phone.

No call centers, no answering service.

In a world where most HVAC contractors never return your calls, it's a huge win.

(PS: Yes, I know, I'll charge my phone!)

I had to double take when I spotted this plaque:

“Medallion Home — Live Better Electrically.”

Turns out it was part of a major national campaign in the 1950s and early 60s to promote all-electric homes.

Electrifying doesn't have to be hard.

That's my dinner last night, being cooked on an induction wok sitting on top of my gas range.

Just 50 bucks from Costco!

And zero CO, CH4, NO2, N2⁢O or CH2O (yes - your gas stove dumps all of those things into the air you breathe).

I want to start off my 2026 with a little gratitude - a big thank you to @energysmartwv.bsky.social!

Nate was an early booster of @heatpumped.org, encouraged me to start the podcast, and has been a steady supporter along the way.

He’s a HP veteran and I’m grateful that he took me under his wing!

It sounds like the Bay Area Air
Quality Managment District is on track to end the installation of new fossil fuel burning residential hot water and space heating systems in 2027 and 2029 respectively.

Its happening! California cities including Menlo Park, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, and Mountain View have adopted smart new policies to encourage heat pump upgrades when air conditioners break. The goal? Lower bills, cleaner air, and reduced climate pollution. ⚡🔌

Getting rid of one-way ACs is a no brainer. Would you buy a car without a reverse gear?

Energy efficiency and demand flexibility can avoid costly power grid buildout, but utilities rarely invest in them because utities profit by putting steel in the ground. This is a main barrier to lowering your power bills. Utility regulators have had decades to fix this but few have done anything.

Just noticed the other day that LinkedIn is doing this too (the exact text of those titles are nowhere in the post, and I have the privacy setting where they can use my data to train AI models turned off)

CHANGE YOUR HVAC FILTERS, FOLKS!

I had a customer give me a call that their heat pump wasn't heating as well as it used to. We scrambled the team to get a technician out there to inspect the system.

When I called back to confirm the visit, everything was already fixed. It was just a dirty filter!

Every time there is a major earthquake, gas lines erupt in flames. Deeply irresponsible by the city, county, and state to not take this opportunity to remove the risk of gas from neighborhoods.

California shut down its last coal plant last week and nobody even noticed, it made so little little difference.

Meanwhile solar is up 17% and gas is down 17% from 2024. I have a few highlights... www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/ding-dong-...
