Ugly bird girl.
Angry. Parent. Artist. Nonbinary, She/Her.
Not anyone of note. Cat pictures happen here. I block image scrapers.

Basically a chubby trash panda with anxiety, autism, untreated ADHD and a couple chronic diseases. You've been warned.
Pinned
People who are following me and have fundraisers: I do not have any money to spare, that's why I've had a little fundraiser to help pay for taking basic care of some street cats who live under my porch.

My roof leaks, my car is 22 years old. I don't have anything to give you but cat photos.

"What if one of YOUR favorite politicians/celebrities/etc is on the list?" Did you all not notice how quickly we dropped Neil Gaiman when we found out about the things he did? Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.

Spent an hour at the food pantry doing prep for the distribution tomorrow.

We have easily half again as many clients signed up now as we did in summer.

if a teenager desperate for money asks you for money you don't actually have to rape them and act like that's just a transaction, you can just give them money.
'Matt Gaetz Raped A Homeless Teenager' is what you mean.

A teenager with a homeless parent? What? The fuck? Did she have a home and not allow her parent to live in it? Ended up having sex with? What? Yeah clearly you guys been caping for pedos long enough and you understand the assignment here
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9

"He only raped children who were at least 13 years old" really, really isn't the "gotcha" you seem to think it is.

I don't know who needs to know this, but if you are cleaning squash for cooking and want to roast the seeds for extra food, use a fork to pull the fully developed ones out of the squash and *then* clean it out with a spoon. So much easier.

Allrecipes has a lot of roasted pumpkin seed recipes.

Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

I need $1000 to escape an abusive and exploitive living situation, please share and help me escape!
I am moving Dec 1, about 200 miles back to metro detroit with my Vampire Boyfriend. The moving truck and movers will cost about $4000. I have $3000 of it. I am short about $1000. Anything extra will go to gas and snacks. Please help me escape! Thank you!
I gratefully accept tips, donations, whatever you want to call them

I feel like today is an appropriate occasion to repost this.

Also, were still getting bills and not-a-bills from when Spouse was hospitalized in July because a routine scope was botched.

Some of them are ... turning my hair gray. Even with the VA footing the bill.
So today we were pulling the very last of the 1940s steel kitchen cabinets (to move them down to the basement workshop) and I found ... This.

It's advertising a fabulous supplemental medical expense protection plan from the 1950s.
There are pencil calculations.

The numbers make me a little sad.

The existence and popularity of sport fishing on earth, where you lure, catch, reel in, display, and then throw back a fish, is what makes me believe in alien abduction

If we’re doing it to fish it’s not a stretch to imagine another bigger stronger smarter species doing it to us

Made 2 batches of tamales (chicken with green chilies and chicken with extra garlic and fresh roasted jalapenos from my garden).

Spouse is taking some to work and I told him "this doesn't mean I'm the tamale lady."

I'm in my office/studio doing some rare-these-days desk work.

My mom's dog has settled in atop my feet just as my late doggo used to do.

It's been 6 years since there was an old dog under my desk on my feet, and it's very odd.

me at the end of class: here's a little speculative exercises; imagine you wake up from cryosleep in 2085. what's the kind of tech-society r/ship you'd like to see around you?

students: no AI

I honestly think students' views are missing from the 'should AI be integrated in classrooms' discussion

Trying to write a narrative paper for eng 102. I think maybe I shouldn't have picked an exploration of how my youngest sister resents me and always has, to the point of violence on her part.

I'm just sad now.

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.

Today's Poob is Salad Cat.

He's very curious about my food leaves and so gets some, which seems to (unrelatedly) reduce plant vandalism.
