An absolutely incredibly pull quote that should inspire every decent human to prove them wrong.

(For those unfamiliar, it’s a visual novel/tactical RPG/board game with 100 endings and roughly 60 novels worth of text.)

EA's bombshell deal to go private could be good for investors, but bad for employees. Leveraged buyouts almost always lead to immediate mass layoffs, and more than half of EA's current cash flow will likely go toward servicing the debt.

Again, I totally understand why Apple doesn’t do a lot of things but the Vision Pro was such a boondoggle money pit, imagine if they spent like 1/100th of that making the Mac Mini really sing.

@mliebreich.bsky.social nails it:

“Before blaming renewables for the Spain/Portugal power cut, remember: It’s better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you’re a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”

Lessons from Spain
Last month's Spain/Portugal power cut has shone a powerful light (ha ha) on grid resilience. TLDR: Renewables were not to blame - but how they were integrated into the grid might have been, in part.

One common theme among most of my favorite games in recent years — Blue Prince, Outer Wilds, Elden Ring, even Octopath Traveler 2 — is that they trust players to piece together information on their own, without flashing waypoints or friendly companions telling them how to solve each puzzle.

@jasonschreier.bsky.social after you first recommended Long Island Compromise I didn’t read it since the reviews weren’t exactly favorable. After you compared it to The Corrections in one of the last episodes, I bought it on a whim and read it this week. Thank you for recommending! It was great!

You want the real conspiracy? The actual truth? The PRC failed to regulate wet markets because it was an easy political and economic win for regional CCP bureaucrats and all they had to do was ignore the long tail risk of a zoonotic virus jumping.

Just like bird flu in the US dairy industry today.

OKAY. Here is how to actually turn off Gemini AI for your google workspace!

1) contact google support from admin panel and keep asking for a supervisor/to speak to a person.
2) ask them to enable settings in "Gemini for google workspace"
3) turn it off.

I just did this and it worked.

I was once talking to a Chinese screenwriter about the ways they have to get creative to work around their state censors. They pointed out to me, is it any different from writing a movie for a US studio, with their own limited corporate ruleset of what’s permitted to be expressed?

It usually comes up with completely inane, useless nonsense.

Who was even talking about the Dragonslayer Axe, let alone "removing" it?? What is this shit?
