List-maker, office supply lover, late-1900s nostalgia chaser, book consumer, children's & YA GN enthusiast. Overly sentimental. Opinions my own.
It's not as cold out as this picture might suggest it is.

After storytime, an attendee was upset I only had a smiley face hand stamp and not a frowning face hand stamp.

Now returning to a topic that actually matters.

I wish for peace for these women, every day.
NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.

Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.

Am I the holiday version of a Disney adult?

I:

•work 37.5 hrs/wk
•commute 10-12 hrs/wk
•take a one-hour/wk language class
•take 1/wk trumpet lessons + practice
•take a hip-hop class
•ride my bike
•read
•walk my dog
•hang out with friends
•volunteer w/local RRTs
•go to the theater
Normally I am very pro celebration but I think the people who have their Christmas trees up already need more hobbies in the calendar

For Charlotte friends who want to prepare, we made our little whistle station with a plastic planter (drainage in the bottom in case it rains), zip ties, and no-heat lamination paper

Charlotte - I hate this (feds in your city) for you all.
As always, if you see something that you suspect could be an immigration enforcement action in progress, call our hotline at (336) 543-0353 or the hotline number in the About tab so we can verify and provide support.

Union made with a union bug?

Promoting food security?

Denouncing book bans?

*sigh* I don't need more clothes but this is very hard to say no to.

No, I do not feel compelled as a librarian to "both sides" AI use and teach about the "good" it provides.

All signs point to it causing tremendous harm and I'd rather expend efforts to educate on that reality vs looking for the supposed silver lining. You don't see harm-reducing change if you just

This space isn't what Twitter was for me regarding local library connections, but going to try here anyway.

My mentor - the person who made my move to IL possible when it would have been easier to hire locally - is looking for a new Youth & Teen Services manager.

I went to Costco on a Sunday and I am now 10 levels of overstimulated (and thus agitated).

I'm trying my calming exercises. Wish me luck.

Me: I want to write a rom-com; I already know the whole story. *pause* No Meg Ryan, no Tom Hanks.

Spouse:...is that the name of the movie?

Me: What? No. Simply stating that neither are welcome to star in it.

I have recurring bad dreams about separating from my spouse and needing to find a new housing solution.

I get to see some amazing (fictional) apartments most nights.

If I had skill+time+energy, I'd create an art portfolio called Apartment of My Dreams, featuring floorplans and design schemes.
